If you have a concern about a child's development - their ability to see, talk, hear, move, eat, or play - you may refer a child to Babies Can't Wait.

To refer a child, please call the Children 1st line at 1-800-229-2038. Children 1st, under the Georgia Division of Public Health, is the centralized contact for all child-related health issues from birth to age five. One of the coordinators will contact you and help determine which program you and your child need and then will refer you to that program. Babies Can’t Wait is the program you will be referred to if your child is under the age of 36 months and is at risk for development delays and disabilities.

Please note, if someone other than the child’s parents makes the referral, the parents will be contacted by BCW for their permission before any action is taken. Participation in BCW is voluntary.
